You know how we sometimes call people "normie" to cope with our own pathological lives? Does anyone find the exception interesting? Like the people who are definitely not normal, but they live well-adapted happy lives, love their parents, have a bunch of friends they stay in contact with.

I just found a blog from a gal born in 1998 and she has LOCAH so she's always been just mysteriously more masculine than her peers. Some things she says sort of imply that she's lesbian/bi? Anyway, one of her posts was about how it seemed hard to make a lot of guy friends in college. I read some book by Robin Dunbar and he pointed out that male-female friendships are really rare. Here she is like "wait, where are all the guy friends?" like she didn't know she was living in some kind of unmapped oasis.

I've always kind of wanted a close bro-like female friend to get into and out of trouble with. It's always felt like it's an important part that she have a history of fighting, of scrapping. A gal who is butch but not some unaesthetic blob. Sorry I just can't be around someone tasteless or lacking vanity like that. Unfortunately hotlinking images isn't going to impact the cost of your bandwidth, especially on niche websites like mine. This is why personal HTML/CSS websites can be dirt cheap on shared hosting. Bandwidth and disk storage aren't the issues driving cost, it's memory and CPU. The VPS peertube runs on is $35/mo, which is pretty much standard pricing for the specs I need.

I think I pay $6/mo for dukenuken.net's sever, which I already paid upfront for 3 years so I can't migrate that for now kek (oops).

I could put Dukenukemis.cool and Braphogs (I dont think tubgurl's software would do well) on that cheap server, but it doesn't free up an existing server since they're currently on my Peertube server ;_; So I might as well get better performance using that beefier server.

If this is confusing:

Damn that seems like a lot. I don't have experience with VPSes but just looking around I'm seeing prices around $5/mo for lower end VPS? I know there may be issues with TOS and bandwidth, but PT is designed to reduce the load via peers, right? And your sites are quite lightweight compared to "normal" bloatsites. Even if the sites are eventually a little slower, if it's 10 times cheaper I'd say save the money and rather buy some cool old vacuum cleaners or something.

I suspected this was the case but it's pretty fucked up that for that money you don't get 100% uptime, on NFS I don't ever remember the server ever being down. 99.9% uptime is a standard today. I'd say just get one good server that's up all the time and put everything there.
