Here's my cathode ray tube catheter gay dude. Filmed on an equipment older than almost everyone here. Nostalgia and vintage tech discussion can take place in this thread, too.

This is a really impressive commitment to going full vint. I’m old enough that my parents actually had a furniture tv like that. (And the wood couch for a short period) When the tv finally died we just put the new tv on top of it. Would be very nostalgic to hook up an old Nintendo or Atari to it if you could get your hands on one. Also something I remember from back then was having these comfy 70s blankies like picrel. I think it would be a good addition to your setup. The whole thing looks great. Reminds me of how amazing it feels when you wake up on Saturday and remember you don’t have to go to school so you go plop down on the floor in front of the tv and watch cartoons and play Legos. One of the best parts of childhood. Oh and the camcorder really tied the whole thing together. Really awesome. I grow mushrooms and sell them at the farmy market so it’s cool to see you’re into them. Another great video. xmr worthy even.

This is so cool. Ash is suited to VHS. She looks like a young Sophie Crumb.

'84 was before my time, but my parents had a wood frame TV inherited from my grandparents. I was so happy when they replaced it with a black CRT. Now I'd give anything to have it back. If for no other use than a coffee table.

My parents bought a spy tv. I want to redpill them so badly, but I know they don't understand. *sigh* What can ya do?

Yeah try telling them about how it's bad and they'll just stare at you like you're crazy. Is it so bizarre that I don't want my tv, toaster, and toilet to hear my every move and send it back to some corporation for data analysis and advertising? Either you get it or you don't. Increasingly more people don't get it because they're desensitized to internet devices invading their every waking moment.

I wonder if with newer and newer TVs, they'll brick it unless it's connected to the internet. No input switching unless you have internet connected.
Replies: >>5705
>>5704
I could see that being a thing. If it comes to that it will be fine though considering how resilient people are, I mean look at Ash. Once I get my own place, I'll prolly get an older tv.

Hell yea brotha. What sucks though is that all the corps migrated to the internet. We still live in the tail end tv dying out. Now that I look back, it was mind blowing I grew up with what only 25 channels or so? Nuts.
Well it’s really just that I don’t find entertainment like movies and shows as a useful expenditure of my time as I used to. I think it’s a boomer thing being in my thirties to waste time on. I would just rather watch some informative video or political wax as a better use of my time over watching some fluff for two hours. Even if the fluff has something that makes you think (which is rare) it still takes too long to get there and typically is watered down. Plus me personally I have a 3 monitor set up so I typically have media playing, web tabs open, and I’m playing a cas video game. Maybe I have adhd but it just feels more productive than potatoing out to some capeshit or drama show. I like the art form of film and do a movie night with friends but that’s just for social interaction really. And worse most media has woke shit shoehorned in. It’s just junk food entertainment.
>>5705
I think in that scenario most people would go along with whatever Walmart sells them unfortunately, but there is a growing group of people still keeping retro items alive and interesting. Who would have thought you could do modern things on an old tv? You just dont really think about that stuff. It's cool to see. Vinyls are back in style and probably here to stay, maybe TVs will be the same way. Get them now before hipsters jack up the price!!!

I've had a 19" CRT tv manufactured by Sharp in 1990 for a few years now that I got for free. It's cable ready and I have my cable hooked up to it. Anon is right, stay away from the spy tv.
I also picked up an Aiwa sound system with speakers made in the 1980s. It has an AM FM receiver, cassette deck and also plays CDs. The cool part is that It displays cool graphics on its screen when playing.
My pride and joy pic related is a 1963 Seeburg juke box that I picked up. I went to a vintage record shop and picked up rock and roll records from the 70s and 80s and put them in the juke box. Old is good.

great that you have an old tv and still use it. it looks nice. i don't think i have ever seen a crt tv with furniture included except maybe in an old woody allen movie. take care of it.
i have a 29' crt that i bought a few years ago to play ps2, ps1, snes, xbox classic, etc.... the old games look much better there than on the new led ones.
when i was a kid i dreamed of having one of those in my room to play snes or ps1. they never bought it for me. now that i bought it myself, i barely have time for games. getting old sucks.
unbelievable that those tvs cost hundreds of dollars before and now they sell them for 15 usd.
a while ago i had an old crt monitor for the pc too. i bought it thinking they couldn't see me from the other side when i watched videostreaming. i was wrong. i finally sold it because i didn't have room to keep it.
long live the crt master race!

Are you referring to how modern flat screens are scrying mirrors? This is why I have my old CRT, the screen in a grey color rather than black. I have heard of a few stories where reptilians or other beings spawn out of a TV since it's essentially a scrying mirror. If this is what you mean, I'd be interested to hear more.

I heard a news report yesterday that for the first time in a long, long time vinyl records are beginning to outsell CDs. Turn tables are also increasing in sales. Report said that people are realizing the much better sound quality records have over digital stuff. I guess the old adage still holds true, vinyl is final.

I used to have a really nice RCA Colortrak console tv but my mom made me leave it at our old place when we moved because it was so heavy. I loved that tv. I could play with my toys on top of it and play my video games on it. so many memories of me sitting in front of that thing watching Fox Kids. Similar model is going for $1,920.00 on eBay. My paternal grandfather had an old Commodore 64 pc and I was the only one who played the damn thing for years but my uncle complained that his kids never got anything from them so my grandparents gave it to his kids. They didn't even know what to do with it and didn't appreciate it at all. Their mom tossed it out as junk. So many memories of my grandfather and I making things using BASIC like these holiday screensavers that we saved on floppy discs. All gone. Thrown in the fucking garbage. My grandfather did give me his Hewitt Packerd when he upgraded but my mom tossed it when I moved out. I lost so many good old games that were near mint still in the box. I used to love sitting with my grandfather and playing Qbasic on it. My maternal grandfather grew up poor during the depression. He had been paying federal taxes since he was 8 years old because he had to take care of the family because his dad wasn't there for them. So he would keep just about everything and repair things rather than just throw it out. When he passed away in 2019, my family just threw out all his stuff. Didn't ask me if I wanted any of it and with his stuff went some of our family photos. Even one of the few photos of me and my dad together before my parents were divorced. I saw the photo one time and my grandfather said he was going to hold on to it for me. I don't think he expected my family just to toss it into the garbage when he died. There was a VHS tape of my uncle who was a professional boxer knocking this guy out within the first few seconds of the match in Tennessee. It was a great video because other than seeing a guys face get punched off, it showed my parents and some of my other family partying wearing 80s track suits. There were several copies of that tape and they were all tossed out. My maternal grandmother used to have this ceramic owl and it would sit in the window with the moon behind it and my grandmother would tell me what I believe was her version of Goodnight Moon. She passed away in 2015 and all I wanted was that owl. My aunt told me I couldn't have it. She ended up selling everything and even though my grandmother's place was left to her so she could have a place to live, she signed it over to a guy she just met who immediately dumped her and kept the home. Now she lives in a camper in a mobile home park. If you can't tell, I'm bitter about a lot of shit in my family. I went from thinking we were all a real family to realizing that if this was medieval times, I would have been killed off by some of them.

unless you're making good money by harvesting organs like a mexian, good luck buying a crt on ebay. crts are cool but not $500+ dollars when you can find one locally for 20 bucks or less. also sorry that your family isnt really a family. too many cases where someone dies and then the relatives come in like vultures to get items only to sell them. mines the same way and i just dont care for money or houses like they do. id rather have items that hold actual sentimental value, like a picture or those tapes of your family.

It seems you haven’t seen much live video streaming. Video streaming makes the viewer’s screen a camera. I started to notice it as in 2015 I think. digital television channels also do the same. In short, digital video communications allow you to do that (sends and receives information at the same time, like seeing from a tube to the other side and vice versa, -you-tube, periscope, etc- it makes sense no?). I don’t know how (obviously through the light of the screen), because I’ve never paid for that service. but, I know it exists.I’ve even noticed that they use that in some bars, it’s disgusting.

I was into older stereo equipment years ago when I started collecting records/CDs. While streaming music is convenient, I get more enjoyment out of physical media not only for the sound quality but the artwork and photos/notes on the inner sleeves and booklets inside the jewel cases are nice to look at. There's probably $1000 worth of records in that blue milkcrate where I keep some of my expensive/rare ones all in plastic sleeves. One of my favourites is the German Army Marching Chorus LP I found at a thrift store for $1.00, excellent condition too. I look forward to blasting it on 4/20 while duck walking around the apartment.

As for the units, The 1978 Pioneer SX-780 receiver sure was a beauty and one of the oldest things I've owned. Besides its amazing sound, the feel and sound of the switches and dials are quite satisfying, especially the tuning knob which had some weight to it and felt smooth when dialing into different radio stations. The backlight was nice to look at while listening to tunes in the dark. Next is the 1982 Akai DP 210c Direct Drive turntable. What I liked most about this TT is the returning tonearm that moves back into its resting position after reaching the end of a record. The build quality was decent, despite being made of mostly plastic (units such as the 1978 Technics SL 1200mk2 were mostly metal). It has a counter balance on the tonearm which can be calibrated depending on the cartridge being used. All in all, it was a nice unit to get me started in the world of vinyl. The speakers were made by my stepdad I think sometime in the 80s, he lent me them for awhile until I bought my own set.

I've gradually upgraded my stereo system over the years before moving out of my parent's place. I eventually sold these units and got into modern equipment because the technology is better, although I still prefer the metal/wood aesthetics of the vintage equipment. After getting a nice bonus from work I decided get the Audio Technica LP120x (in black) which is modeled after the Technics 1200mk2 mentioned above to go with my Klipsch bookshelf speakers, Cambridge Audio CD player, and an Onkyo home theater receiver which I plan on replacing with an integrated amp later down the road.

tl:dr shit piss horse cum and AIDS

Yeah I had a wild hair to paint something, the wood block was originally a light wood color, so I painted dark brown all over it. Then I think I painted all white silhouettes of the mushrooms, since the brown would make any colors very dark if painted on top of. The white layer will make sure the next colors applied are vivid and even. After that, I painted the real colors on top of the white, and then outlined everything in a dark brown. I also put the dots on the mushroom with the end of the paint brush. I thank my art mentor, Chester. He taught me everything I know.

Going through some family photos and stumbled upon these. My Dad would find these old pinball machines from all over the county and reservice them back to life. We also had these two shooting games (one of them not in the photos but it looked like picrel) where you fired small metal balls at these targets shaped like coins that popped up. The idea was to shoot as many as you can from a hip firing position like some gunslinger from a spaghetti western film. The whole basement was basically our own little pinball hall, we would always have friends and family over trying to beat eachother's high score while music was blasting. Good times.

What do you guys prefer, pinball or arcade machines?
>>7097
That's badass! Do you or your dad still have some of those pinball machines? Did he make them pay to play them? I've thought about getting an old pinball machine or even one of those old table top arcade games, but they're expensive and heavy to move. I probably prefer arcade machines, it's not to say that pinball is bad. You just get some more variety with arcade machines. I played at an arcade not long ago, had a blast.
Replies: >>7116

I'll have to go with arcade machines too, though that could just be a generational thing. We had Guitar Hero, Mortal Kombat, racing games, shooting games, et cetera. If it were just Pacman or pinball I'd go with pinball 99% of the time.

When i was a kid i used to go to a video game arcade where the addams family pinball was, it was the most fun pinball of all. we went quite often after school with my friends, just to play sunset riders for 4 players. there was also cadillacs and dinosaurs for 3 players, street fighter 2, mortal kombat, aero fighters, etc. what good memories of that time...
Where I live all the video game arcades are gone, there is only one left in a mall but it has games like whack a mole and other kid shit.
I hope someday a miracle happens and they come back.

We no longer have them unfortunately. Most of them were sold after my parents split but I think someone in my family may still have one of them. The machines were set up as "free to play" unless my Dad needed money for cigarettes.
>>7107
I remember that episode, I actually had a very similar experience when I was in high school. There was some burger joint that had a pinball machine that I used to play while waiting for my food until one day the owner replaced it with a Street Fighter arcade machine because it wasn't as noisy. It really bummed me out. Coincidently, that shop closed down not long after the pinball's replacement, some things never last.

For me, I prefer pinball over arcade because it's less predictable and the shiny lights and sounds coming from the machine while racking up points is more entertaining for my retarded brain. We also didn't have any arcades out in the country and the nearest city was an hour or more away so the only way I could experience any of those games were on the Super Nintendo.
Replies: >>7117
>>7116
I always think what today's equivalent of this would be. It's kinda still the same in sense, but still different. Instead of a machine being replaced, it's a character getting nerfed, or a fundamental aspect of how the game is played is altered in an update.

I made new friends in high school and as far as I know they did too.
Throughout my life when I have met them by chance we have always said hello and talked. there is always a good vibe. I have good memories of them and they have good memories of me too I guess.

Anyone here old enough to remember cow ray tube televisions? They still use them in some parts of the world. I got mine from my great-grandparents who ordered it out of a Sears catalog back in the '40s. It still worked until recently so I sat it out by the street to be picked up by the garbage man. Gonna miss watching old moovies on it.

Extreme upvote. My grandparents had one of those. I only ever used it once or twice but had I known how valuable they would become, I would have asked if I could keep it from their estate. Only problem is you need a lot of room to store a cow ray tube and I live in an apartment. Old cow ray tube TVs also smell real bad and they require a lot of maintenance (feeding, giving water, milking, etc.). Nobody in the family used cow ray tubes anymore, so my aunt sold it to a farm who typically specializes in caring for old horses. Apparently the guy really loved horses and died doing what he loved. All I can remember is that his last name was Hands.

Anyone watch Cathode Ray Dude on Youtube? I'm waiting for him to inevitably tranny out so I can call him Cathode Ray Troon.

You guys are lucky, my parents couldnt afford the cow ray tube TV's so we had to go with the smaller, cheaper cat ray tube televisions.
The reception was pretty fuzzy and sometimes the image would move around alot so you had to get up and give it a wack to fix it, but they were pretty durable. You could drop one from high up and they would always land the right way up, its like they had nine lives.

Wow this is a great setup. You got super lucky not only to get it for free but with the original remote too.

Have you softmodded your PS2? I haven't done it myself (just have a modded PS3) but I hear it's crazy easy, you can do it these days with a memory card loaded with software called Free McBoot. I haven't looked into it too much so DYOR, but if you mod it just hit up https://cdromance.com/ and you're off to the races.

Have fun with that anon, good stuff.

You lucky piece of shit. It looks very nice, can't beat having the luxury of a swivel. You can put on some old school porno, swivel that TV to your neighbors house and let the neighbor kids watch in on the fun. Sharing is caring. Do you plan to use it for more than just games? You can get pretty much anything over to an old TV if you buy converters, which tend to be inexpensive. What was it like picking up the TV? Awkward? Did you have to pull it through a flight of stairs?

I bought 2 more CRT tvs pretty recently. One is also an RCA Colortrak, but not the Colortrak 2000. It's from 1986 and works with no problems, well except for the fact that it didn't come with a remote. It DOES have a swivel, too. So get ready neighbor kids just kidding. I put it in my room, my room is looking really awesome and the TV is a big part of what makes it look good. I need to record a video showing my room in detail.

I still use the LCD for modern movies, but I'll play certain media meant for 4:3 aspect ratio on the Colortrak 2000. I have a 13" RCA TV on my desk for playing live concert DVDs or whatever for background noise while shitposting. I would like to get a Sony Trinitron PVM but they can be pricey.
>>12831
I haven't tried soft modding it yet but I'll look into it, thanks for the link. I already have most of the physical games I wanted but if there's a particular one I can't find then I'll check it out through that site.
>>12832
The swivel is great, makes it much easier to access those cables. I'll use the Colortrak 2000 mainly for retro gayming but there's certain 80s/90s media I'll watch on it too. It's a 27" TV and weighs about 100lbs which is fine by me, plus my building has an elevator so it wasn't difficult to move into my unit. Getting it in/out of my car was a little tricky, I miss my SUV.
>>12829
You can still buy non smart TV's or "dumb" TVs if you will.
I haven't looked into them much other then just seeing if brands still sell them, so Im unsure on how many shops either online or brick and mortar have them available to purchase.
I have a mid-large fat screen TV that I've had for years and years. Watched so many movies and played so many games on it. great times were had, I will be kinda sad when if it cant be repaired and I have to let it go.

My cousin recently gave me shit about my Tv.
He asked me why dont I upgrade it because it wasnt smart, but also, and get this... because it has borders around the screen (they are like maybe 3cm in thickness) I literally nearly threw my beer at him but I didnt want it to go to waste. So I resisted the urge do that and also to tell him I dont want my TV spying on me because then he would probably think Im even weirder and would no longer occasionally make contact with me to play games or go eat somewhere.

Also, my Dad has a huge... smart TV, and it has like ads that appear on one of the menu boxes down the bottom
imagine paying thousands on a big TV and you get ads on it. You can probably block it with router settings or something but still.

btw DOES EVEYONE HERE LIVE IN GIANT MANSIONS WITH LARGE ROOMS THEY CAN FILL WITH ALL THESE TVS!?!?!?
>>12818
One thing I forgot to mention when I got this TV was that according to the owner somebody else had already grabbed it a few days before I did and returned it because it wouldn't turn on. All they had to do was push in the power cable behind the TV a little deeper for it to fully connect, that's it. Apparently the guy just showed up and picked up the TV from the back deck and left without talking to the owner first and testing it out. Good thing he returned it instead of tossing it to the curb, for a 30 year-old TV it still looks and runs great. I definitely lucked out on this one.

I also recently picked up a small Belarusian TV on the street, I don’t know why, I don’t really need it. What can I say about it? It seems like «Горизонт» TVs were the only thing that Soviet citizens could afford at that time. The Horizont company still operates in Belarus and it seems like this is still the cheapest option on the market if you don’t take into account Chinese TVs, they don’t carry any value. This one was produced after the collapse of the USSR, and it is black and white. So most likely people bought these for their dacha, or at a security post where some alcoholic sat drinking cheap 9% beer and watched state propaganda from this box. I'll most likely throw it out, it's collected too much dust from the inside and I don't want to fuck with it. It would be better if the some homeless break it down and take out some copper, sell it for scrap metal and buy a bottle of hawthorn tincture. Maybe someday I’ll buy a used trinetron if it’s sold nearby.

Here's my CRT I picked up a few years ago. It's from the 1980's made by SHARP and I have the remote. I did a big favor for a girl I know and she surprised me with a smart flat screen TV that can get the internet also. It's still in the carton. She keeps asking me when I'm going to hook it up and I keep stalling her saying that I need special brackets to mount it on the wall (I'm never going to hook it up). I know it can spy on me but I also wonder if it can also spy on private conversations. When my CRT craps out I hope I can find a TV repairman that can fix it.

Finally got off my fat lazy ass and archived the Beavis n Butthead comic

two things to note
The story starting on p12... the term "Dillweed" appears, which would be the name of her second youtube channel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_gr3g_IfHw

Is this where the Ash came across this term?

Secondly and also during that story, the topic of men pretending to be women in order to compete and dominate women's sports comes up...
For 1994 did Beavis n Butthead predict the future?

>Has anyone seen the new episodes of beavis and butthead? I hear they're pretty good but I haven't watched it yet

I cant get into the Beavis and Butthead shows, but I quite enjoyed this comic.
Its their voices, the way they speak and the constant "uhuhu" noise they make. I get that its a HUGE part of the character but I just find it annoying. Not a fan of the animation style either, like the actual animation itself, not the rest of the artwork which is nice, like for example their stylzed proportions.

Is that what its like for those weebs who would rather read the manga than watch the anime?

anyways it was a lucky thrift store find, I doubt I will come across anything else interesting around here, its all just old clothes, books and cd/dvds

A few weeks ago I went to antiques and collectibles store and came across a SONY Walkman WM-F22.
At the time I had no idea how much it was worth and there was no price on it and the guy mentioned that he didnt even know if it even worked.
I offered him $20 and he replied hey how about $30?
Since I was already buying an item (a radio/cassette player/recorder/alarm clock for $5 that i will post about at a later date) I told him I'll take that offer but only if he throws in the $5 item.
Gentlemen, we had ourselves a deal.

So I take it home and turns out, depending on its condition, it might be worth a couple of hundred of buckeroos.
Now here is the problem, the radio works fine, though the switch at the top, to change it to the radio is very sensitive, like I have to lightly tap on it to get it to play. but the radio is functional

unfortunately the cassette player is not.
I dont know what the part is called, but its the 2 prongs that when u insert a cassette, is kinda like a penis going into the females vagina hole and it rotates around which makes the cassette tape play and thats how babies r made.
This super cute girl told me that it could just be the belts that make the pulleys on the penis spin, that might need to be replaced.
So I've opened it up via unscrewing the back cover but Ive came to a bit of a roadblock.
its hard to explain but the circuit board has a wire thats still attached to, like the underneath part and its preventing me from detaching the circuit board and its pulleys, etc from the rest of the unit.
I've looked all over the walkman and cant find any more screws that I can remove.
So basically rn i cant access the parts on the underside of the circuit board, which are what I need access to.
I've tracked down the manual and it has some illustrations, but with my low IQ and complete lack of XP with electronics repairing, I still cant figure out what the next move from here is.
I've also looked on jewtube for repair videos but I cant seem to find my version of the WM-F22 as there is also a black version. Theres plenty for that black model, but the insides on the black version compared to my gray version, are different (no racism remarks ty)
On my version, the circuit board is much, much larger and the batteries are in a different and INCREDIBLY AWKWARD SPOT OMFG. With the back cover on, even just getting the first battery out is a real fucking pain in the ass. Im not even going to attempt to try and get the second battery out at this stage, which this second battery, much like my balls in Ashley's back hole every single night, is in REALLY REALLY deep.
The other versions the batteries go like horizontal next to each other and look heaps easier to get in and out. Also theres this annoying ribbon thats connected to somewhere under the circuit board, and is also attached to the back cover, so i cant take the back cover off completly and set it aside. Its not a ribbon cable or anything, like its felt or nylon or some shit idk. You can see it on w5.jpg

ANYWAYS, if anyone can find a video on dismantling THIS PARTICULAR WM-F22 please post it! (look at where the batteries are on mine compared to others)

Im going to continue to look online for one, but if i cant find it, there is a local electronics repair store that I might take into and see if they can get the cassette player component working

holy shit sorry for the wall of text!

tldr: bought a 1985 SONY Walkman off an old man for really cheap, might be worth a few hundred but the tape player wont work. radio does.
old dude was old school "cash only, we dont take the card" Das my nigga I said to him and we dabbed each other up and played duos in FORTNITE (ok no we didnt but he did only accept cash though fr)

A lot of these electronics function similarly, so you don't have to look up a repair for a specific model in order to know how to repair it. Though it would probably help to see your exact model have a teardown video.

>the radio works fine, though the switch at the top, to change it to the radio is very sensitive, like I have to lightly tap on it to get it to play. but the radio is functional
The connections may be dirty, causing a little erratic behavior. You should first try cleaning this area either by blowing it with compressed air (it comes in a can) or you can try using something called Nutrol, which is an electronics cleaner that helps clean these parts without harming anything.

>unfortunately the cassette player is not.
That cute girl is probably right, because the number one issue with tapes not playing is usually an old belt needs to be replaced. The old belt is like a rubber band, and since it's a rubbery elastic, it loses its elasticity over time and can become even looser with heat and age. A loose belt won't be able to rotate the reels, and thus the tape won't rotate/play. You can use a literal rubber band to replace it, or buy a pack of belts for cheap. Some people get autistic about not using actual rubber bands, but people who do it say there really is no issue and from my experience, it's fine.

So now you're trying to access the tape deck area to replace the belt. Sometimes when digging into electronics, it's hard to find a way to get where you need. But usually they do make it possible, you probably just haven't found the right away to access it yet and it feels like it's being held down by something you can't find. A lot of the times you have to just try, pull and feel where it's being held down.

It looks like there's a screw where I pointed out with an orange arrow, and looking up a teardown of this model online, that screw is removed to possibly access the other side. That may be what's holding it down. Though sometimes these screws on boards are to keep gears in place. There's another screw I point out with a blue arrow, that one seems to be holding the gear. Just try removing the other orange-arrow screw first to see if that does anything, being cautious to see if it's for a gear or not.

A wire shouldn't prevent you from opening the rest of the walkman, these things were made with the intention to repair. The wires will still be connected to the board, but loose enough to allow you to lay the board against something for support. You won't need to desolder them to access the rest of the walkman.

Also, there are sometimes small plastic pegs you have to push down as you lift the board. The yellow arrow points to what may be that, but I can't tell for sure.

Once you open the rest, you will have access to the belts. The picture of the belts is from your same model.

By the way, that nylon ribbon you're talking about goes underneath the batteries. It's there to make removing the batteries easier. You pull on the ribbon and it pops up the batteries.

I trim my nails so I don't tear the toilet paper when I wipe.

What's the better way to trim your nails? Nail clippers or biting them off? Nail clippers are for fags.

Was in a thrift store earlier today and came across a couple of items that made me think of Ashley.

I really like going thrift store shopping.
its kind of like going on a treasure hunt but instead navigating your way thru a jungle or an island with trees, sand and hot babes to find a treasure, its a musty old building full of clothes, dvds, plates and old ladies

Even if you dont find anything, its fun to explore. Plus, sometimes the old ladies that work there can be really attractive in a wholesome kinda way

Look what I found in an old desk I inherited from my great-grandfather. They were stuffed behind one of the drawers in an old envelope. The instruction manual to my great-grandmother's old RCA swivel tv and two local channel line-up reference cards. Sorry Ashley, it doesn't contain the remote control hand unit. I used to watch Hee Haw, Grand Ole Opry and Larry King Live on CNN with her in the evenings and I would watch Lamb Chop's Play-Along and Mister Rogers' Neighborhood in the mornings. The last time I viewed this tv was around 2006 when I connected my Xbox to it to play Fable. I have no idea what ever happened to it but I know my family discarded it when my great-grandmother died. It still worked perfectly fine and the remote control wasn't worn out at all. I still have dreams about being at her house and sitting in the den watching this tv.

Does it feel cool living in a family with shorter generation times?

I wish I had kids as a teen and somehow got well set enough to encourage my sons/grandsons/etc to impregnate girls in highschool so I could have a chance at being a great (6x) granddad on my deathbed in 21XX.

Not really but it's not cool being alone either.
