Yeah, more people are needed indeed. It's weird how the culture in this stuff has changed in about a decade. The old board was super active and people were more receptive to small Youtube-type creators back then compared to now. Part of the problem is people get their entertainment from apps rather than from websites, cutting down in the amount of people interested and exposed to independent websites. Spread Ashley as wide as you can, but it's also fun having a small hang out with who we have here now. Maybe whoever got those poinsettias will join us.

I respect ash for doing things her own way. She proved she could just make a tiktok account and snag 30k followers in no time. If she sold out and made a youtube/tiktok channel this place would be a zoo in pretty short order but having a billion zoomer simps in here wouldn't be great either. (btw I think it's ok to admire her like that as long as you connect with her art and get the general vibe) I was thinking art schools, museums, etc might be a good place to spread the word to try to net creative types. At the end of the day it's really hard to compete with the exposure of a platform like youtube or tiktok. Growth is going to be slow. If we could get 50 regulars by the Valentines Day stream that would be really nice. Maybe I will go back and revisit paid advertising options.

I for one enjoy these out of character videos as much if not more than the in character videos. Back in the day you felt obligated to pump out a video a day for your fans and eventually you started getting writer's block which happens to all writers and ball players that go into a batting slump. You started to become dis-satisfied with some videos because it was quantity over quality and you deleted some shortly after uploading them. Finally you said that you'd start making a video every three or four days.

We all realize the huge amount of effort you put in to making the in character videos you are making now and which are a lot more complicated than your earlier videos but and I guess you know it goes without saying go at your own pace and enjoy doing so and never feel obligated. How do you do, pal? No cold, well, I was physically cold. I forgot to turn on my space heater so my room was about 50 degrees, and even being under the blankets was freezing. It occurred to me when watching the video back that people will assume I'm on drugs due to the runny nose; I am not, as I have too few brain cells as it is and I need every last one functioning. I was at a thrift store and found a 1960's nativity set in the box for $3. I bought it and when I opened the box, there were 3 baseball cards in the box. That moment was like a sign from what you would consider a monotheistic god, and I knew I had to come back. Random baseball cards in a nativity set? It was too coincidental. Later I filmed my first video, a Chester video, including the baseball cards. It's an unreleased video and I'll refilm it since it was so bad and low quality, but there's some lore.

Uploading issues happened before the full CF switch, on the .gg domain, which as I understand didn't use CF. You could be uploading, no exaggeration, 1-10MB and it will take a very long time and often times fail. Multiple file upload (about 1 MB total) with just pictures would fail too. I must admit, when I found Ashley's video in 2014, I liked it, but I took it then as "girl-Sam Hyde." Her sense of humor is fairly common in my country (although other jokes can easily land you in jail). Then I considered her departure logical, and it was possible to choose an easier path and choose a quiet comfortable life. But upon her return, her views were not only strengthened, but supplemented with a bunch of impressive skills and interests, and most importantly, a sincere and pleasant personality that is impossible not to love, it feels like she was designed to be perfect in the image of my head. Only one site is worth it, I read it for hours realizing that this is what the Internet lacked. Now, over the years, I have lost contact with all my close friends, I have nothing in common with them and I do not like to think about these people. Agree here. There is an unhealthy level that even as ashlings we have to (and have in numerous threads) warn against. It’s just not going to lead to anything good. It’s best to take a break if you feel you’re being too obsessive (over anything) and let yourself readjust to your own waking life. That being said I’m not the type to walk into the bar and knock a drink out of an alcoholic’s hand. Do what you want. Personally I don’t see how ash could fill the kind of void made for god, love, or woodworking. Maybe in 2014 when she did daily videos and you could reach out and talk to her. I understand what you mean, and I can imagine how my message looks from the outside. I'd like to say that I'm not completely obsessed with Ashley, I adore her and enjoy being on this part of the internet, much like how I feel about a certain small internet musician and his community. I understand that there is nothing productive in this, but I do not care about it. I will not forcefully communicate with people with whom I will regret the time spent, put on a smile, and restrain conflict situations - this is not for me. I like the silence and loneliness in my personal life, I'm just a little sorry that we have changed and our paths have diverged, our friendship has remained in childhood. Its not impossible to balance watching Ashley with a social life, unless you only want to socialize irl, that sounds great on paper but from experience I can say that most of the people you meet arent likely to be as realatable as you might want. Convincing yourself to hate her is very childish. Just because you hate someone doesn't mean you stop thinking about them. Take lolcow users for example. Lolcow users hate certain online personalities and spend years angrily discussing in great detail every little thing an online personality does. Their hatred amplifies how much they think about the personality, they obsess over the person far more than even the average fan would. It isn't healthy. They continue to watch their videos, continue to follow their social media, all while intentionally going in with a negative mindset. It's a weird cope we do, righteous anger on something very silly like a Youtube personality. It's a weird twisted way of making themselves feel better, but not really at the same time.

Just because you hate someone doesn't mean you will stop thinking about them. In fact, the feelings are strengthened with further negativity. Why not resolve your feelings and move on in a positive way? This is the most mature and healthier way to handle things. The advice from others and the AI is the best way to resolve things. It mostly requires you to work on yourself, nothing Ashley says or does will make you feel better, because if you're already to the point of trying to hate her, anything she does will be wrong in your eyes. Try to recognize this and lighten up. Here's one thing I do to try to not have negative thoughts. I used to be a very negative person until I discovered spirituality. In an effort to be a better person internally, I challenged myself. Anytime I had a negative thought, I recognized it, stopped it, and replaced it with a positive thought. Every time. This is like a muscle you have to train, but soon enough it will just become who you are and you will rarely have to stop yourself with a very negative thought. Naturally we can make negative observations, of course. But this will help with any irrational or flat out negative thoughts. Our reality largely is altered by our perception. A positive person in a stressful situation will deal with it better than a very negative person in a stressful situation. Trust me, because I have been both people in that situation.

If she wants to be famous and influence a huge amount of people (not 100 people on peertube) she proved it's possible just by looking cute on TikTok. 15,000 followers in just a week or two, getting up to 100,000 views a video. You're trying to convince yourself she's some big evil mastermind because it pains you to know she won't date you, so you make up whatever you can to demonize her to justify your sour grapes.
