Hoping to chat online with other gaymer men.

Discuss games you're playing, games that you want to try, ask for opinions on games, mods, etc.

I'm surprised it took this long for someone to finally make a gayming thread, I was about to create one until I saw this post. Anyways, I finished the Resident Evil trilogy recently, didn't have enough time to play the Silent Hill games back in October but I'll be on vacation throughout December so I'll tackle them later. It's been 6 years since my last playthrough so the sp00ks should be as good as before.

Seabee (tyfys), you're a pillar of this community and we're glad to have you. None of the namefag complaining applies to you.

But just as a reminder to everyone else, the anti-namefag sentiment is rooted in logic and, as gay as this might sound, "imageboard history".

Required reading for all newfags: https://wakaba.c3.cx/shii/shiichan

>Anonymity counters vanity. On a forum where registration is required, or even where people give themselves names, a clique is developed of the elite users, and posts deal as much with who you are as what you are posting. On an anonymous forum, if you can't tell who posts what, logic will overrule vanity. As Hiroyuki, the administrator of 2ch, writes:

>If there is a user ID attached to a user, a discussion tends to become a criticizing game. On the other hand, under the anonymous system, even though your opinion/information is criticized, you don't know with whom to be upset. Also with a user ID, those who participate in the site for a long time tend to have authority, and it becomes difficult for a user to disagree with them. Under a perfectly anonymous system, you can say, "it's boring," if it is actually boring. All information is treated equally; only an accurate argument will work.

So, namefag if you want, but just know that it's cringe

I want to play Alan wake 2 but I think it looks super bad on my gtx 1080 ti.
I will never buy a top of the line card again.
Since I bought it I was noticing that with each driver update it was getting slower and slower in the same games and more over now a game came out (and many more they come I bet) that uses a more modern technology to render that my card simply does not have.
I'm going to buy a used rx 6700 or 7600. Fuck nvidia.

How is there no negative reaction to that retarded trailer? I thought at first they were censoring comments on videos with the trailer, so I went on /v/ for the first time in 10 years and the response is still really positive. Who the fuck cares about a trailer where it's 0% gameplay? Better yet, these retards think the trailer 'is' gameplay. People surprise me with how stupid they are. Anyways, a woman being playable it's an immediate no from me, dog. The trailer is like a TikTok simulator and maybe thats why Zoomers are shitting themselves over this garbage.

dude play san andreas. it has a totally different feel than the newer games (IV onward). More "video gamey" if that makes sense. Like in GTA IV they were going for more realism with vehicle physics and such, in San Andreas and prior it felt like they prioritized fun. Plus you get to roleplay as a black guy.

Whatever you do make sure to play the original PS2 version, not the PC or mobile (cringe) port. They took out a bunch of radio content and from what I've heard are absolutely dog shit. Part of what makes san adreas so good are the snappy controls. If you don't have a ps2/ps3 just emulate it.

Probably yeah. It's a fairly demanding game even for PS2 so I've had some trouble with it on older hardware with integrated graphics, but on a semi-modern-ish system with a discrete card it should run fine. Do you know about widescreen hacks for pcsx2? With PCSX2's graphics cranked up and a widescreen patch, some of these older games can look pretty amazing. note for ashley: no nothing beats the look of a CRT I'm sorry mommy

Emulated games almost always have glitches and bugs.
Nowadays you can do it with a pendrive and a sd card.

>Emulated games almost always have glitches and bugs.
I disagree, at least in context of pcsx2, which has been in development for a long time. Most games run great. If you go older than PS2, eg ps1, snes, nes, genisis, etc, all those are basically perfected.
For someone just dipping their toes in, or who wants to just play one specific game, I wouldn't invest in a bunch of hardware. But if you're really into that era or the ps2 library, then yeah, for under $100 you could get a ps2 + crt

I just can't wait to play Alan wake 2 with raytracing (I've always loved games with feds, occult, conspiracies, etc). Plus my gtx 1080 ti wouldn't run it decently.

350usd is reasonable assuming the seller didn't abuse the card. If your temps seem a little higher than they should, try repasting.

thats one of the problems with digital media
its so easy just to click buy and have it sit amongst the other stuff in your online digital library that you havent touched and just forget to play it, because unless you load Steam or whatever, it ends up being a "out of sight, out mind" kinda of thing.
Well atleast for me it is.
where as physical media its usually on display on like a shelf or whatever so you see it more and remember oh yeah i should play that
I only ever buy 1 game at time now, and always make sure to play it immediately.
Steam's refund policy has also tbh helped with that, since ive refunded a couple of games.

I have always wanted to play the max payne saga it looks really good.
I've only seen the intro's of 1 and 3 and they look very heartbreaking. I wish the day had 8 more hours to catch up on playing video games.

Well... Maybe from the perspective of an outsider, this poor craft may seem like a good visual novel. But for those who know all the ins and outs of this game, and how after conflicts and dramas, and especially thanks to the awful graphomaniac writer Ritochka, he is the biggest problem in this game. During development, this game was hated on all post-Soviet imageboards thanks to which this game is originated. Also, Endless Summer is very popular among normies, and became the first and only visual novel for those faggots.
The best and worst thing that this game gave was such a phenomenon as the sovenok-fest, and the following raids of dvachers on it. I won’t go into full detail about what it is, but in short, it’s an old pioneer camp temporarily rented , where a bunch of retards buy tickets for a lot of money to look at the few female cosplayers of their favorite game and eat some goyslop. Over the years, a lot of cringe has been generated at these festivals, and it would be hard for me to describe it all.
And yes I agree, the music and backgrounds in this game are great, but they were created before things got really bad.

Well, these are peculiar types of normies. Someone simply has no taste, and very impressed by the fact that a bunch of anime girls are throwing themselves at annoyng main character, who mumbles under his breath all the senseless shitty graphomania written by Ritochka. Most people fell in love with this visual novel after some popular streamer or youtuber played this game. There are those who are nostalgic for the times of the Soviet Union. There are also those for whom the sovenok-fest is a reason to simply get drunk at that kind of gatherings. I rarely go to dvach now, but when the raid on the sovenok-fest begins, it’s always fun to watch.

I've talked to people who know about Epstein's island and they say, "Its awful Clinton fucks kids". I'll tell them how it's also crazy Trump was best friends with Epstein. Then they start making excuses when someone they like, someone they think is on their team, is actually part of the global cabal. "Oh Trump is a business man, they were just meeting for business." "Those photos are fake". "He didn't know Epstein was doing that". funny how when bill gates was exposed hanging out with epstein, gates will say literally the same shit excuses. You can't force someone to wake up, even when they have key information.

But it is quite obvious that this controlled opposition has the imprimatur of the CIA within the boundaries of the U.S. acting at the behest of the global elitists cabal and violating its own charter mandated by Congress.

This is a joint in my town where they sell and repair gaming consoles, VHS etc. It has a very sentimental value for me. My dad used to take me here to buy me Sega Genesis cartridges and stuff. It was the first and last gaming console my parents bought for me. Of course it’s not what it used to be 20 years ago but you can still find retro technology in this passage and a few others in this street. I’d hate to see this place die off.

That architecture is the only saving grace from the reality of it being a shitty strip mall. I used to love stores like that, but they just overcharge for plastic when I can just get it for free on the internet. But i get it, it's comfy to be attached to nostalgic items. I just don't like attachments, they make me feel weak minded. I'm really adiment about throwing away things I don't need, that goes for people too.
>>17160
That’s cold, anon.
I mean objects are one thing but people?
How can you say that?
Do I have to need someone to be with them?
Isn’t love, common interests and a sense of trust and comfort ideal reasons to be with someone?
Should I disregard my parents because I don’t need them anymore? How about my friends whose company I enjoy but don’t necessarily need them for any particular reason?
I don’t think you really mean this.
I think you’re just mad at someone who has done you wrong.
>>17160
Same goes for me in some regards. I loath getting close to people, the obligation of having to communicate is grueling for someone who likes being to themselves. Normies feel like NSA agents who need to log all the shit you're doing. I'll never understand social media and the like. Objects I admittedly get attached to, though I'm well aware it's not a good thing. I'll enjoy the material world while I'm here.

Social isolation?

>>17177
No. It's the polar opposite. Social media is being used to usher in the new thought control. Eveything you do in physical space will be intertwined with what you do online and visa versa. By design a social credit score will determine
your place and tied to your biometrics on the blockchain. Normies don't see it coming, but i do. I never talk to anyone about it because it's real life schizo posting
Replies: >>17186

It was. The internet was always a pseudonymous social resort for nerds until normies ruined it. Nothing wrong with being anonymous nor opposing overt socialization. I get my fill coming here and wouldn't have it any other way. Loners persist among all decades, nothing grim about it. Being a loner doesn't mean you're lonely.
Replies: >>17186

>Kinda grim.
What's grim is that you apparently think everyone should have their name and face on the internet. I genuinely hope that during the course of this conversation you'll learn why that's a harmful position.

Don't be a normie, Hans. Normies have been completely brainwashed by corporations and governments to think that pseudonymous or anonymous communication is bad, and that privacy is only for bad people with something to hide. Obviously this couldn't be further from the truth.

I've posted this a number of times before, but here's a refresher:

Required reading: https://wakaba.c3.cx/shii/shiichan

Replies: >>17186
>>17160
I don't completely agree with you when it comes to people but I can see how that way of thinking would be smart. I've thought in the opposite way before, been freindly with people for the sake of it, trusted others to the point where I assumed no one was dishonest, and I've learned that the average person, the "normie", is extremely manipulative and will do or say anthing for any modicum of control over others. The less ties you have with them the better, but to value people based on your need of them will only lead to the most useful people in your life using you, and if you're autistic enough to use an imageboard then you're probably going to get raped, financially or otherwise. It's human nature, the best course of action for autists is to avoid people altogether, no matter where they are.

The masses will always be controlled one way or the other. I believe this has always been the case throughout civilized history. And among those masses there are those individuals who tend to be freethinkers, intellectuals, and even social outcasts.
I think the social credit score is a big reward and punishment tool. Something to condition the masses on what is good and what is bad and this can be dangerous, since it is a form of internal organic addiction where people use the social media to get their dopamine fix but the context is very important so it leads to repression of what the masses repulse and embracing what the masses are attracted to. Especially sites like Reddit where the reward and punishment method of upvotes and awards vs downvotes and banning is the law.
I suggest you talk with those whom you consider worthy and smart enough to talk to or at least have a productive discussion.

>>17179
I think this is what normies are like: first they reject the new thing, then they start to be acquainted by it. Then they embrace it as their own as the avant-garde subcultures who started those movements start to disown what has now become the norm and leave for greener pastures.
I don't think there's particularly anything wrong with being a loner but I believe humans are social animals and we need to communicate with another human or animal one way or the other.

>>17180
Not in the sense of using your actual information but something to be distinguished about. I think it can potentially be harmful when you share sensitive information. How is a pseudonym harmful?
As I've said before Hans is just a pseudonym. I used to use X with my own name as well then I went pseudonymous there as well.
I also believe that freedom of speech is dead. It's a bad joke. Because I do not think there is a single country in the world that claims to have free speech laws where they won't punish you for saying something. Things like questioning the Holocaust, criticizing major religions, talking about race realism. They'll find a way to imprison or punish that person either physically or by ruining him financially.

Right. I think what happened is that when the ps1 was made the hardware and graphics engines that existed at that time were very basic and were in diapers. There was nothing to build on. They were just laying the foundations for what would come later.
Now the leap is less noticeable because the hardware and graphics engines are much more polished.

Once my cousin lent me his super nintendo with this game. I had a lot of fun. Especially with the level of the bathroom, where a duckling comes out making some very funny sounds.
Good ost.

I would like to impregnate Maxine many times. I bet she would be a great mom and wife. Plus she has super powers.
I played beyond the storm first and then the one in the picture. I got the ending that matched the comic. The comic is good too. I think the last issue came out a while ago. I haven't read it yet. Hopefully it will be a happy ending.

funny, I had a crush on Chloe. I have a love hate relationship with these games.

I hate how retarded everyone is

I love tomboy girls

I hate how liberal everything is

I CAN FIX HER

I hate how poorly "friends" treat eachother

David is based and the real hero

I hate how unfinished the game is

I love how realistic it is (liberal women from Oregon really are this retarded)

I hate Before the Storm it plays like a shitty fanfiction

I love Before the Storm it perfectly explains why Chloe is a terrible friend (Rachel is soooooooo much worse)

etc etc

I've always considered this series an inferior GTA with edgier humour and whacky gameplay. Then again, GTAV had a lot of that too, especially with Trevor's character. Atleast the previous games had a more serious tone in their story and characters while adding a few oddballs for comedic relief. Despite all that, it is unfortunate the latest Saints Row reboot was made by woke developers that tarnished the series with their shitty writing and outdated gameplay mechanics shortly before going bankrupt.

I thought Saints Row IV was better than GTA 4 and 5 not including VC and SA. I used to love 4 as a kid, replayed it a year ago, it was pretty boring and the controls were pretty shit. 5 was weird, not my cup of tea. Saints Row isn't for everyone but the humor made it better than GTA 4 and 5, gameplay felt on par with added bells and whistles, generally more creative. It was made in that short time period where you could make edgy jokes and it was all in good fun. Not so much anymore, the latest one was an atrocity.

If you are interested in this game, then I recommend trying EARTH DEFENSE FORCE. A very fun game about destroying giant bugs and aliens in many ways. You can download the pirated version of EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 5 and try it, and most likely you won’t have to upgrade your computer since it doesn’t have the highest system requirements.

I didnt enjoy ER.
tbf, Ive only played it on a normal ps4 and its agonizingly long load times which didnt help because i suck major ass at it. And having to wait after each death for the game to load just really added insult to injury by adding time for me to get mad for lack of skills

HOWEVER, it was mostly because of the whole open world aspect to it, also some of the bosses were more forgettable than DS2 bosses.
The open world REALLY made it feel more directionless which i didnt enjoy at all. I much prefer the more linear + optional areas of the previous FS games.
Also, i got pretty far in that the last of the compulsory boss I defeated was Radahn, so its not like a gave up early on also the... little caves throughout with repetitive bosses were worse than BB chalice dungeons.
And the fashion i had gotten so far was awful too, which was important because I have to look good.

btw, ive finished DS1, 2, 3, BB and Sekiro so i aint no scrub, alright?

i will probs buy the GOTY edition or whatever the fuck that gooks wanna call it and play it on the PC with the DLC

I get what you're saying, I felt the exact way about MGSV. The previous games were linear but it had plenty of areas and small paths within a facility you could sneak through. It also felt claustrophobic and there was a sense of panic when guards searched each room thoroughly while you were hiding somewhere. MGSV was mostly an empty map with a few boring enemy bases scattered about with guards that couldn't see you from 40m away in broad daylight. It also had repetitive boss fights that were pretty lame compared to the unique bosses you fought in the earlier games.

For Elden Ring, I thought the level design looked fantastic and the open-world style gameplay made it more adventurous as a fantasy game should. The grace sites and NPCs guide you along the way so I'm not sure how you felt directionless. The caves and boss fights within them are repetitive I will give you that. Also, playing it on older hardware doesn't do it justice, of course it will run like shit and have excessively long load times. Bloodborne is my second favourite by FromSoftware, they need to re-release it for PC and PS5 and not have Bluepoint fuck with it.

STALKER 2 is suppose to release later this year but I have a feeling it will be delayed again for Q2 2025. The graphics are nice but the gameplay looks too similar to Metro: Exodus. One thing I hate about FPS games nowadays is the excessive use of in-game cutscenes and scripted events where the player briefly loses control and has to watch a POV conversation with NPCs or an action sequence with QTEs. I stopped playing Metro: Last Light because of this shit and went back to Metro: 2033 since it felt more interactive.

Yeah, I hate that shit. What was the origin of QTEs? God of War or something? I don't want to watch a movie, I want to play a game. I think it was God of War, but I never played any of those games. First game that introduced me to QTEs was the original Resident Evil 4, I remember being thrown off guard seeing QTEs during the cutscenes which I found annoying. STALKER has a great modding community allowing new quests, weapons, textures, etc. to keep the games fresh but I like playing vanilla as intended by the developers.

based dumpster diver, good job. For free it's actually not a terrible machine. 4gb of RAM sadly isn't a lot these days (modern browsers are hot garbage and hog ram like there's no tomorrow, which I'm sure you've noticed). You actually did pretty good with that Xeon CPU though, I think it's roughly on par with a late gen i5. And you even got a dedicated graphics card. It's not great, obviously, but it's probably way better than any onboard graphics would have been during that era.

So yeah, the ram is probably your biggest issue, I'm surprised you can't upgrade it. Ubuntu out of the box is going to eat up more RAM due to Gnome bloat.

You'll probably have better luck with arch and a very lightweight DE like XFCE or even LXDE. If you're a virgin you can even look into something like i3+rofi as a window manager and launcher, but don't do this unless you really enjoy the learning/tinkering process.

Basically, you just don't want your desktop environment soaking up all the ram. When you're playing games, you'll probably want to keep the browser closed, and if you can run games without steam running, that'll help quite a bit too. And obviously don't expect to run the latest AAA games on it.

Let us know how it goes, I check tubgurl a few times a day and I'll be happy to help if I can. Considering the price you have a really nice find there.

Actually I am not sure of the maximum amount of ram that the motherboard supports. When I had windows 10 installed I checked the specs of the motherboard with aida 64 and hwinfo and both said it supported max 8gb (the motherboard has two DDR2 slots). I bought a 4gb from a site online that some buyers said it worked on intel cpu's. it didn't work on mine. On ebay there are some sellers that claim they 4gb ram sticks works on intel cpus but the 8gb kit costs 40 dollars. maybe later I will take the risk and buy them.
What I liked about ubuntu is that it is super easy to configure and the desktop environment is pretty polished. It has dark themes and the night light is built into the os. It also installs the best drivers for my video card by itself and recognizes my portable sound card natively in a plug and play way.
The bad thing is that it consumes a lot of ram.
in idle state it consumes about 1.1, 1.2 or 1.3 gb of ram. also i read that ubuntu snap apps consume more ram and go slower. i confirmed it with opera and vlc. i uninstalled the snap versions and installed them through the terminal and they start faster and do not stay loaded. there are other snaps that i did not want to uninstall because they seem to be part of the system and i think that slows down the so in general. stutters quite often and while i play games is anoying.
thanks for wanting to help me anon.
I am going to install arch but on another hard disk and I will try (I don't want to format this one).
I will update here in one of these days.

What is the motherboard make/model? Post it here and I'll double check for you. I was kinda surprised 4gb was the maximum, I bet it's 8 (or if you're lucky, 16). I lived with 8gb for much longer than I should have and it makes using your machine much more manageable. Once I know what the motherboard is for sure, I can give you ram suggestions that will work for sure. Always try to buy ram in a "kit" like you mentioned, that way you're not going to end up with anything incompatible. 8gb will be a big improvement.

I haven't used ubuntu in many, many years, but I do have a PopOS installation that "just werkz". You might want to run it in live mode off a USB to see if the RAM consumption is a little better than stock Ubuntu; I suspect it will be.

Snap/flatpak etc are all going to eat more resources, you're right.

Your best bet for performance will generally always be to switch to a "bare bones" distro like arch or gentoo, but that definitely requires a lot of learning and setup work if you've never done it before. It's NOT as hard as people make it out to be, but it's not plug n play like other distros.

Maybe a good middle ground is something like Lubuntu? https://lubuntu.me/
It's ubuntu but made with low-spec systems in mind, running LXQT desktop environment. Based on the screenshots it looks like it has a nice dark mode too (that's also important to me, I hate getting my eyeballs burned out by bright white themes/websites). I would actually try out Lubuntu in live mode too, maybe before anything else.

Thanks for sharing your experience. How'd you dumpster dive the computer anyway? I've always wanted to go to the dump and see if I could get the guys that work there to let me haul off computer parts, but I'm sure there are laws/regulations against that (because of course).

the pc is a thinkcentre M58e 7269 sff. Actually, a guy I met on Marketplace sold it to me for a few bucks. The guy told me he works for the local government. The PCs and related hardware that they discard in those institutions pass through his hands, he leaves some of them and sells them. I've bought several from him already. like 7 or 8. Some I fixed, then sold and left 4 for myself.
he his a good boy.

I looked for the model of the motheboard somewhere on the board but found nothing. I also downloaded some programs to see the specifications of the board but it only says the name of the manufacturer, lenovo.
it has a g41/ich7 chipset, according to what i remember seeing in windows hwinfo and according to what the lenovo website says too. i looked for similar boards (with the same chipset) and they do work with 8gb of ram in 2 ddr2 slots. i understand that it is mandatory that the ram is made for intel cpu.
after using ubuntu for several days now. i realized that it's actually the sound that cuts out and stutters (while playing games). that's what makes the pc feel like it's slow.
i installed a soundblaster audigy that was stored in a dusty box and still the same sound problem persists. 3 different sound cards, same problem.
i read a little bit around and they say it's a problem with the linux sound api (alsa and pulse audio which are the ones i use). other people have the same problem. apparently there are some partial solutions but i haven't tried them yet.
do you know any solution?

i have not installed arch yet. although i have already downloaded it and have it on a pendrive. in a few days i think i will do it if i have free time.

I fixed it.
What happened was that I had installed pulseffects (to equalize) and that caused the lag in the sound.
I uninstalled it and installed pipewire. now it sounds good.
I also installed easyeffects (to equalize) and it works well with music but in games you can hear slight squeaks from time to time, nothing very serious but annoying for me. i think they need to polish it more.

Finally got around to playing Helldivers II after upgrading my CPU. So far it's pretty amazing, very friendly community too. My first playthrough I had a higher level player show me the ropes and help me out on a mission so now I'm more prepared when entering battles. I'm also back into playing Hell Let Loose now that everything runs a lot smoother. I haven't enjoyed a WWII game this much since Red Orchestra 2. As for the upgrades, I settled with a Ryzen 5700X3D to replace my old 1700X, I originally wanted the 5800X3D but paying an extra $100 for a 10% performance increase seemed stupid. I thought about upgrading to an AM5 build but since AMD's latest chipset drivers update I can get a few more years out of my X370 motherboard from 7 years ago and save money for an AM6 build in the future. I upgraded my RAM to Ripjaws 32GB since my Flare X 16GB sticks weren't functioning properly after updating the BIOS for reasons unknown. Anyways, I look forward to being holed up in my room this Summer gaming while normies get skin cancer.

Started playing Rimworld.
If you dont know what this game is its described as
>A sci-fi colony sim driven by an intelligent AI storyteller. Generates stories by simulating psychology, ecology, gunplay, melee combat, climate, biomes, diplomacy, interpersonal relationships, art, medicine, trade, and more.

So anyways I downloaded a mod that allows me to make a character (normally characters are randomized but you can keep rerolling until you get one your happy with)
With this mod I can chose her appearance and pick her backstory for her child hood and adult hood witch effects what her stats are
Traits seem to be more personality focused (I think) and drive the story aspect to the game.

What do you guys think of her backstory? There are tons but I think what I chose is pretty accurate
here is a list of the child and adult ones you can pick
https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/List_of_childhood_backstories
https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/List_of_adulthood_backstories
and here are teh traits
https://rimworldwiki.com/wiki/Traits

4th pic is Ashley building our first room.
5th pic is Adam claiming the only built bed and making the women sleep on the floor lul

anyways its my first ever playthru so who knows how long they will last.

Im playing on random story teller and the difficulty is something like for new players but they also want the occasional random event occurring to challange the player
Im about 1hr in an so far its real good so far and nothing has happened.

Helldivers 2 has been a lot of fun though, I haven't had this much fun in an online multiplayer since Battlefield: Bad Company 2 back in 2010. Theyre all dead now. A grizzly bear wiped us out.

grizzly bear attacked the camps dog,
Armed with a bolt action rifle, Adam decided to shoot the bear.

This pissed off the bear and caused it to become enraged, attacking anyone nearby
First it got its revenge and mauled Adam who then was able to crawl his way back into his bed
Then it made its way to Stark and mauled her.

The bear had run off so I thought it might be safe for Ashley to try and rescue Stark. Carrying her back to her bed so Ashley could tend to Stark and Adams wounds.

Nope.

The bear came running back and attacked, mauling Ashley.
Both Ashley and Stark crawled their way back to their beds, where all 3 of my colonists slowly bleed to their deaths.

I finally got my hands on an Asus PG279Q monitor, everything looks so much better after switching from a TN panel to IPS. I've been wanting one of these for years but every local ad I find there was always a problem with dead pixels and excessive backlight bleed. This one is pretty much impeccable and it only cost me $300 (these normally run $500 used, $900 new), the previous owner also kept the original packaging so it made transportation much easier and included an extra DP cable.

Nice job holding out for a good one, significant savings too. I don't know the difference between a TN and IPS panel. I'm just glad you didn't get a curved monitor.

>I don't know the difference between a TN and IPS panel
Basically IPS panels have better viewing angles and more accurate colours than TN panels so the image quality looks nicer in comparison. Curved monitors are indeed gay and I never understood the appeal of them. I guess some people feel more immersed in games, especially flight simulators, when using those things. I know a guy with an ultra wide monitor that takes up his entire desk which eventually made him feel buyer's remorse.

You are retarded, but I like to see people use Linux so I will help you.

Steam runs Windows games on Linux using Proton, which is essentially a custom version of WINE, which I'm sure you've heard of. You don't have to have to use Steam to use Proton.

I recommend getting familiar with Lutris and/or Bottles:
https://lutris.net/
https://usebottles.com/

Bottles in particular is very easy to use. Keep in mind you may even be able to pirate the linux-native version of your game. johncena141 is a well respected uploader on 1337. In worst-case scenarios you can even run a windows VM and do gpu passthrough for near-native performance.

I understand if people want to pay for games made by small developers (e.g., I paid for KeeperRL quite happily) but I would never, ever pay a single dime for a game made by some tranny loving corporation that actively hates you.

tl;dr you can play games on linux without steam

But they know normies eat that shit up because they want an "experience" over getting upset that they suck at a game and need to die over and over to git gud. Slapping suspenseful music as you mash X to kill an enemy is perhaps the most retarded form of "gameplay" there is. Good hardware for games that look good, play well, are complex, etc but dont cost half a billion dollars and 3 years to make.
thats probably one of the things i hate most about modern video games, they cost so much to develop so publishers arent going want to risk throwing money at something new.
Outside of more hardware for VR stuff, we dont need a ps6 or new XBOX

>Peak video games were the ps3/360 era.
I prefer the 6th gen era, developers were considerate enough to throw in free bonus content such as costumes, extra levels, behind-the-scenes footage, and artwork to reward the player for completing a game based on the chosen difficulty level. The 7th gen era was when developers started getting greedy by charging real life currency for bonus content. AAA games back then also stood out from one another based on their art direction and gameplay style, I noticed many TPS games from 7th gen and onwards use the same formula (using cover, walking + talking segments, press X to win, etc.) and FPS games copied Call of Duty 4's gameplay mechanics and multiplayer. The only good thing from 7th gen were the graphics and online accessibility and most of those games were multi-platform which meant PC gamers were able to get the true version of a game while consoles received a downgraded version.
>VR
The only VR game that impressed me was Half-Life: Alyx, especially the physics when interacting with various objects. Other than that, most VR games are awful since it's mostly made by indie developers.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm playing Duke Nukem Forever for the first time and after playing the older games including the platformers, I have to say I like it and I don't see what everyone's problem with it is. Maybe everyone expectations were too high since it took so long to be released. One thing I do not like about Duke Nukem is the older 3D games can get disorienting which oddly enough is a problem I haven't encountered in Doom I and II surprisingly. Also, I like Doom III a lot and don't understand all that hate it gets. This is coming from someone who has only even tried these games in passing and has never sat there and attempted to complete them. I like playing the older titles first so you don't miss any nuance in the newer ones. I think most of you just base your entire opinion of something off of what other people say about it.

I'm currently playing it for the first time in almost 20 years and it still holds up pretty well, especially the visuals. People bitched about it being too dark and having to swap between your flashlight and weapons in poorly lit areas but it made you feel more vulnerable to enemies lurking in the shadows. The remaster fixed this by adding a flashlight to your weapons for convenience, but the developers also cranked up the brightness which made the flashlight almost useless and ruined the game's atmosphere because of it.

There needs to be a derrickdabeast mod for doom. Call it dumb. Derrick is kidnapped and taken to the deep underground military base hidden under the denver international airport to be sacrificed in a blood ritual to molech but what the elite don't know is that the fbi slipped derrick an "assault weapon" to commit a columbine 2.0 and derrick mistakenly believes he's at school and was sent to the principal's office.

Have derrick receive hints from his mom, chester and glitta on his phone and have it resemble the MGS codec. Derrick can goon to tranny porn on gov't computers to receive a temporary buff. You find boxes of farm rich mozzarella sticks to restore health. Have the game reveal that derrick's father is kevin sorbo.

won't happen again. i saw doom and games in the op so i assumed this was a gaming discussion.

anyeays, to the person that told me to kill myself, i have tried twice already and this won't be the last time either.

last time i spent a week in the ICU and then spent my holidays in a hospital room alone recovering before shipped to a psych ward.

I will be using protonizene and benzos instead of fentanyl this time. it's active in the microgram range like LSD and there's no coming back from that. It's 200x stronger than fent. So you will get your wish i promise you that. When you have attempted two serious suicides that both landed you in the Icu you are likely going to do it again studies show. I will plan it out even better this time.

Not looking for sympathy, i'm doing it no matter what, my mind is already made up. So telling me to kill myself is not offensive at all, i wish i were dead lol.

This game is literal government propaganda, funded directly by the Norwegian government and the European Union.

The following is from an article, published-today, August 31, 2024, from ZeroHedge, entitled "US Government Using Tax Dollars To Fund Woke "Counter-Disinformation" Video Games", and reads-as-follows:

"If you've been wondering how it's possible for so many woke movies, streaming series and video games to continually fail yet still get made, the answer is of course ESG funding. These products don't necessarily have to bring in consumer dollars because the companies already got paid by an army of NGOs and government programs.

Though the flow of ESG cash has slowed dramatically ever since central banks started raising interest rates there's still a long list of projects that were initiated several years ago that are finally being released today. This is why, despite the complete public rejection of woke propaganda and dying ESG, we are still being inundated with far-left media."...

..."We recently discussed the exposure of a AAA video game called 'Dustborn' funded by the Norwegian Government and the EU. The game features a cast of queer activist characters that use the "power of words" to cancel and manipulate their opponents. They also use various methods to bully their allies to do more for them. The game is set in the near future of 2030 in a balkanized America run by "white conservative fascists." The backdrop of the game was apparently inspired by the 2020 elections."...

..."In 2021 members of Congress wrote a complaint to the GEC in which they argued that the institution was straying from its original mission. They included the video game project, noting that it was designed to:
"Produce a ‘counter-disinformation video game’ that programmed audiences to associate citizen critiques of government waste, fraud, and abuse with a social media disinformation campaign.”
Inoculation Theory upholds that "individuals who are exposed to weakened versions of arguments against currently held attitudes formulate resistance, and the ability to form counter-arguments to future threats to those attitudes.""...

..."To simplify, they portray weak strawman arguments within popular media to make their political opponents look ridiculous. The public consumes this media and is thus convinced that the government narrative is the proper narrative, while anyone who dares challenge that narrative is automatically ignored, even if their position is based on facts and evidence. The US government is using American tax dollars to pay for psychological weapons that will be used against American citizens.

This agenda to infuse woke ideology into every aspect of western culture has been ongoing for quite some time, but any criticism of it in the past was immediately called "conspiracy theory." Only in the last couple of years has the evidence mounted to the point that even normies can no longer deny it."

I wonder what kind of writing/reading you have to do for girls to like it. It would seem kind of absurd for them to love men for reading "50 shades of grey"- it being something many of them enjoy doesn't mean it is necessarily attractive. Philosophy? Young adult fiction? Does shonen-style harem fiction count? Erotica? Hard sci-fi and low fantasy?

The aspects of fiction that I imagine intersect my enjoyment and the generic female enjoyment would be romantic fiction with ambitious male characters.

Is it weird that I don't see more people doing woodworking, painting or gardening as a dating strategy? Maybe they are a bit more resource/time intensive than they appear at first glance?

It doesn't really matter, as long as you're passionate about it. It's not really the reading/writing itself that the females find attractive, it's seeing a male that has a strong interest in a creative pursuit.

Obviously there are exceptions to this, if you're passionate about writing loli anime fanfiction it won't be attractive, although if you're successful in other areas of your life, some females will bend reality and convince themselves your proclivities are "cute".

Generally speaking though, women find driven, ambitious men attractive, especially if that interest is traditionally accepted by society as "good," which reading and writing is.

This is not something I have direct control over, so I do not care. However, I understand woke agendas being pushed culturally through video games, tv, movies etc. are a result the the WEF's SEG scoring for compainies to qualify to recieve funding. From a business standpoint, it creates a domino effect because if your competitor partakes, you'll need to compete and partake in pushing woke garbage too.

Finally got around to playing the Halo series for the first time, it was alright. I remember all the hype for these games as a kid but I never had a chance to play them since me and my friends all played PS2. This is one of the biggest video game franchises I never played, apart from Halo 2 splitscreen at a friend's place during high school, so I decided to finally experience its greatness for myself and to be honest it wasn't really anything spectacular. Being able to switch between classic mode and remastered with a single button was a nice feature which should be a standard for remastered games. I didn't like how Halo: CE remastered looked so I kept it vanilla, Halo 2 remastered looked gorgeous but the music in certain places wasn't as good as the original, also Cortana's original purple design looked better. Anyways, here's my ranking of the series:

Halo: CE>Halo 2>Reach>Halo 3>ODST>Halo 4

I'm not going to bother playing Halo: Infinite since it was enough of a chore playing these games. I lost interest in the story after 3, plus the original developers Bungie are no longer involved so any additions to the story is mostly nonsense made by the trannies at 343 studios.

I haven't played it, but I wanted to try Euro Truck Simulator 2, but I can't start playing it yet and put it in the backlog.
In general, I played "Hard Truck 2: King of the Road" a lot as a kid. Here in Russia, this game had a cult status, and in terms of content, it was more than just a cargo transportation simulator, there were races with other trucks, and a system of interaction with bandits and the police, and there were also secret paths that you had to find on the map yourself. Unfortunately, after the success of the second game, the third one came out and it turned out to be complete shit.
And there is also a cool game about truck drivers, but in a post-apocalypse, and you need to hang weapons on trucks and destroy other trucks. This game is called Hard Truck Apocalypse / Ex Machina. I love that game.

As far as Im aware there are no mods that allow you to receive handjobs at a truck stop. I dont know of any mods at all that allow to you interact with people directly because they are merely cosmetics for the game. there is a mode that adds more of them to cities though
https://www.modland.net/american-truck-simulator-mods/maps/more-people-on-the-ats-streets-v1.2-1.36.html

also there are mods that add a co-driver but they are techinically a cabin accessory so all they do is sit next to you or if you truck has the size, you can have them in the sleeping compartment... and no you cannot molest them when they are sleeping!
https://www.modsats.com/momiji-co-driver-remake/

As for radio stations, I never added them but yeah, you can have actual radio stations streamed into the game or your own mp3s.
For radio stations I think you just need to paste the stream url into one of the games config files, Im sure you can figure it out.
mp3 files just go into the games music folder, I played it on windows and the folder was in the my documents/Euro Truck Simulator 2/music

most of the mods that arent adding new trucks are improving the graphics/sounds or even cities and physics, others are about adding realism like real world companies or a more realistic economy system

anyways, happy truckin' brother!

ps. real men dont play Truck Simulators, we play off-roading simulation games like MudRunner and Spintires

I noticed that a lot of girls play trucking simulator and a lot of them are lesbian. I get notifications that a lesbian friend of mine plays this on steam a lot. Too bad she married a feminazi, she could have been your trucker gf. I play Big Mutha Truckers.

I still need China Adventure dlc for Spintires. Pisses me off they no longer sell it on steam. Is there a mod for it? I noticed most players complain about not having it.
Anyone have steering wheel recs? Shit looks fun but I don't know what to get.

It's alright, not good not bad. You're limited to only gaylifornia, Arizona, and New Mexico unless you buy a ton of DLCs. Roads and time aren't to scale, but there are a few "landmarks" here and there so it isn't too monotonous. Apart from multiplayer convoys (which are hit or miss), the game mostly consists of driving from place A to B until you have enough saved to buy your own truck (after which, you can roam free).

I wonder if this is just the part of the copyright law where you have to bitch about it to protect your copyright.

Guys, during the summer break, I was wondering how to spend my time with no particular plans when my roommate Ashton becomes a girl due to TS syndrome! If she climaxes 100 times within 30 days of TS syndrome, her gender will become fixed!?

I forgot about this game, there's an open beta on October 22. L4D2 still holds the crown for being the best co-op zombie FPS but this might be cool. Zombie Panic is great also.
