A non-programmer way to create a GIF from the Ashley Tracker:
- to turn the "clipboard history" on for the first time, press "Windows logo key" + V, and then select "Turn on"
- right-click the image and select "Copy image"; repeat this for up to 25 images
- press "Windows logo key" + V, select the first image, paste it to an image editor and save it as a file; repeat this for other images
- use https://ezgif.com/ to create a GIF from the image files

No. Maybe you can create one of those Desktop Shortcuts out of the corresponding Command Prompt command you would have to run for the BusyBox for Windows setup (see https://stackoverflow.com/a/25817258 ). That might allow you to simply double-click some desktop icon to run the script.

BTW, the script in >>25008 is actually retarded because it will download duplicates (EG, when Ash decides to only update every 10 seconds, or when she is offline), it also reconnects every loop-iteration (5 seconds) and I kind of forgor the whole shell-syntax. I only made that post because I was in a bad mood and wanted to show the possibility of a much simpler solution, while having my brain turned off, off.

Anyways, I tried write one that avoids the downloading of duplicates now, like so:

you are wildly overcomplicating this. Your original wget loop just needs to add some kind of file comparison.

1. Download image.jpg and rename it current.jpg or whatever
2. Subsequent downloads of image.jpg are called new.jpg
3. use diff or cmp to see if current.jpg and new.jpg are different
4. if not do nothing
5. if they are different, save new.jpg somewhere else and overwrite current.jpg with new.jpg

Personally I would just rip them every 3 seconds with a wget loop and then later clean the batch of duplicates. I'm interested in getting things done, not writing an "elegant" bash script.

This might be a problem on Windows, which doesn't allow colons in filenames. You should still be able to extract them with a tool like 7-Zip, which is smart enough to replace the colons with underscores.

You're welcome! The videos are losless by the way (which is why they are so large) so if the zip doesn't work, you can still get the original video frames from there.

It's possible. I just wrote a simple script to save a frame every 5 seconds. If the Ashley Tracker updated more frequently than that I might have missed some. (For the record, there were 2158 frames over a period of 3 hours, 7 minutes and 16 seconds, which works out to an image every 5.2 seconds.)
