Thank you, I spent some time researching old shows and their sets, and I came across this picture, which I tried to recreate.
>What are those two things below the keyboard on the bottom right corner?
The black thing is my husband is a VCR. I'll be using tapes in the VCR that have a "wait" screen that will show when I need a few minutes to do something while live, such as giving birth to a stinky brown boy in the toilet. The wait screen looks like it came straight out of the 80's or 90's, very happy with the end results. The smaller white thing mounting the bigger black thing I'll go into more detail in a video.
>So this new camcorder can disable the OSD?
Yes, no problems at all with the new camcorder. One other big concern of the old camcorder is that it would shut off automatically if not in use to save battery. The "convenience" of the previous camcorder ended up screwing me, it was too damn convenient heh. But my new camcorder has no issues.
>perhaps figuring out what day of the week and time works best for everyone?
I thought this too, I want to time it where I know most people are home. Saturday night? 6 pm PST | 7 pm MST | 8 pm CST | 9 pm EST. I don't know if this works out for the Euros, probably not, but if I time it earlier in the US it would be too early for US people. Maybe the Australian can just pop some caffeine pills.
>Peertube allows for VOD, so would it get uploaded for those poor bastards who want catch it live?
Yes definitely, the video will be available on my video site as a replay. This is one thing I still have to mess with, a small test livestream to make sure the replay works. I'd like to have the chat replay as well.
One thing I dislike about streamers is that they can spend a good portion of the time sitting, staring, mumble-reading the chat but with no real entertainment happening. If you catch their stream afterward, it can be a bit boring. Maybe it is fun when it's live because you're hoping the streamer will read your comment, but as a viewer afterwards, it can be boring. So I'm going to have topics at the ready and segments planned out. The fact that it's live is secondary. It's like I'm filming in front of a live studio audience, it helps that there's a live chat at the time, but I'll make sure it's still entertaining for everyone who watches it after it's recorded, since the people who watch it after will make up the majority of the views. I'm trying to make the live show interesting with no dead air. That's not to say every second will be jam packed craziness, but it will be entertaining. Sometimes it feels like a livestream is just people who pay get their comments read, making the viewers who don't pay feel left out. I don't like this and so I won't have any "super chat" type things in my stream. It's more like a live public access show than a modern livestream.
