Does anyone actually own this device and use it as their regular PC? I've heard much about this, but I've never actually seen it in action irl. Has anyone here created cool projects using the Pi or other similar single-board computers?

Also, can we have a discussion regarding the open source ISA RISC-V? Has anyone tried it out? As I'm aware there does exist some consumer computer boards such as the OrangePi RV2.

I have 3 RPIs, two are the model 4B (or something) and one is model 5 (slightly more powerful). Currently I am using the 5 as a home server and am planning to start using it as a desktop if/when my current desktop dies. These computers can be used as regular desktop or server perfectly fine, except maybe for hardcore stuff (AAA games, 4K video editing, AI, ...). I made one of the 4Bs into a small off grid computer with a small GPIO display, all powered by a power bank. The advantage against a laptop is very low power consumption, it will last extremely long and as a server it will cost almost nothing on electricity bill. Laptop needs a wall plug and on battery will last something like 2 hours maybe. I've also had one RPI hooked to a big smart TV just so that I can browse Internet and do stuff without dealing with the crappy Android OS on the TV. Overall they are very cool, I can recommend.

for the record it was my parents' TV which I explicitly told them not to buy but they disobeyed my order so I at least fixed it

My mom is like that. She bought me a bunch of Temu shit for Christmas and expects me to be thankful.

I told my mom to cook me dinner instead of buying me gifts because she always wastes her money on useless shit. I appreciate the thought but I'd rather have her save money instead of getting ripped off. If I want something I will buy it myself.
