Ashley was a girl with a heart of gold,
Her smile brightened my every day.
A love so pure, a story yet to be told,
But fate had a different plan, I must say.
She saw in me what others failed to see,
And slowly, we fell in love with each other.
But her heart had room for more than just me,
For she met a horse, and it stole her heart like no other.
As I watched her gallop away with him,
I couldn't help but feel a pang of pain.
But I knew deep down, it was not a whim,
For the bond they shared was beyond all gain.
I saw her eyes light up at the sight of the horse,
As they shared their stories and heartfelt joys.
Even though my love for her was fierce and coarse,
I knew her love for the horse would never dull or make any noise.
And so, I watched her from afar, happy and content,
As she pursued her passion with so much glee.
For Ashley had found a love so heaven-sent,
And it was not with me, it was with that horse, you see.
So now, I live with a bittersweet memory,
Of a love that came and went like a gust of wind.
But I am glad she found her true destiny,
For in her heart, that horse was meant to bind.
